Sci Fi channel to become SyFy channel – that is the best you can do?

In a world where marketing guys think through their asshole, they have decided to rename the Sci Fi channel to SyFy. That’s right – spelled in a made up way and yet said exactly the same. This is to try and shed the geek/nerd image. So keeping the same name pronounciation and gave it a hax0r spelling is less geeky? You guys are dumbasses.

And this is apparently after the Sci Fi channel had its best year ever.

   I laughed when I read this on IO9′s site. I think they actually will make people take them less seriously with this idiocy.

     I think the biggest reason for the change – Syfy can be trademarked, Sci Fi cannot.
