Brian walked away with the best in show award for his Dubbel at the 1st Cure For What Ales You (CFWAY) Homebrew Fest. Catherine and I were lucky enough to make it over to the Iron Hill in Newark, DE to check out the CFWAY homebrew fest. Basically they organized an event where homebrewers could come show their wears. On top of it, it was in a real brew-pub and open to the public. A very cool idea.
Brian brought along his Vader Imperial Stout and his Belgian Dubbel. Both are very yummy. We also sample quite a few great homebrews, a few good ones, and a few that are weird. A nice addition, that Catherine enjoyed very much, was Garrett’s Belgian single. Not a style you see often, with it’s low alc% and lighter body, but the aroma of a Belgian brew. Nice. From what I understand, Brian will be featured, along with the rest of the festival, in the Spark magazine; a local culture and events magazine from the News Journal. Should be online Monday afternoon and in print Wednesday. Rumor has it he may get the cover (I saw the proposed shot - him pouring a big ole Vader!). My buddy Joel was on the cover before.

2Thanks for coming out to the event guys! I had a blast and it seems everyone else did as well. We should have extensive coverage of the event over at CFWAY soon!
