I have had the other variations of this brew, the Arrogant Bastard and the Double Bastard. This was more first adventure into “oaked” land. And I have to say - this is my favorite of the trilogy.
I poured the elixir into a Storm King glass and took in the chestnut brown color, with a rich head that clinged to the glass with a velcro like strength. The smell was a rich malty warm smell that invited me with it’s siren-like effect. I grab the glass, and opened up.

The taste was very smooth, so much so I was surprised. The Arrogant Bastard is much more “stingy” and the Double Bastard is a “no car keys” kinda brew. This was nice! Very drinkable - which I did not expect. I expected a big strong beer to put me in my place and I would have a battle of wills verses its very malty-nature. NOT SO!
I may have to explore going halvies with someone for a case of this yummy stuff.

1The OAKED is my favorite too. Smooth with a capital Smooth. Good beer. Have you every tried the Stone’s 10th Anniversary Ale, now that’s a rip your face off delicious hop monster.

2What’s with the mirror image pictures?
I would go halvsies on a case, as long as you go halvsies on a case of Insanity from Weyerbacher with me.

3The images are reversed because I took them with the Mac’s built in camera. That is how they turn out.
We will investigate said offer on halvsies - that strikes me as a “good one”. We just need to find somewhere that will have a case of Oaked Arrogant Bastard.

4Beer Yard: OAB - http://www.beeryard.com/beer/detail.cfm?id=1736, & Insanity - http://www.beeryard.com/beer/detail.cfm?id=1331. Scott & Dave - I obviously have not tried it because it came out like today, but you should consider the Blasphemy - http://www.beeryard.com/news/default.cfm?action=view&id=851 - their Quad on bourbon barrels - yikes!
I was wondering about the mirrored images too.

5Ok - Beer Yard is an easy trip for me. What about a 3 way spilt between the OAB, Insanity and Blasphemy. Gotta check how much that will be but who thinks that may be a good idea.
I will in the future reverse all the pictures to make all things right with the universe

6Figure out a price, my guess, all big beers/limited beers, $75 a piece - I may be out. But, call the Beer Yard, I’m not NoT interested.

7I know Shengi’s has Insanity. I can check the price there. See if they have the others also.
BTW, I didn’t care that the pictures were reversed. Just wondering how/why you did that.

8Prices for the above at the beer yard:
Oaked Arrogant Bastard - sold out
Insanity - $78/case + tax/deposit
Blasphemy - $78/case + tax/deposit
Not sure what Shangi’s price is.

9Shangy’s (finally got the spelling correct) has Insanity for $63 a case. They don’t have Blasphemy yet, and don’t have any OAB.

10Blasphemy is release this week. Maybe you can call and ask when they will get some and their price.

11They didn’t know a price or time frame. But they will get it sooner or later. That was why I said they didn’t have it “yet.”
