More craziness from Mr. Moore’s Brain.

I finished this about a week ago, but I am just getting around to writing the review. The book is like other Christopher Moore books - very funny, wacky plot items (whale ships anyone) and great characters. When I started this one it was funny but had a more “regular” plot as compared to past reads. OOPS….that changed half way through. It changed in a kinda “From Dusk till Dawn” kinda way. It really threw me, but then I settled in and enjoyed.

Some of the interesting items learned from the book:

  • Killer whales (which are all named Kevin), are “just four tons of doofus dressed up like a police car.”
  • Whale biologists are “action nerds”
  • And the book does a nice job of slipping in conservation messages in a very very sly way.

No - Christopher Moore’s books will not bring you higher consiousness, but they sure as hell will make you laugh and entertain you to no end. And it is nice to have an author keep that in mind and let his imagination go wacky.
