Book Review: Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris

meTalkPrettyCover.jpg

In this collection of essays we get Mr Sedaris’s very funny, very sharp comidic view on the world and his experiences in it. If only I could express myself half as well as he can!! This is one funny read. It is divided into 2 halves. The first is a collection of essays that focus on his childhood (speak therapy) to career choices (helping a Marxist moving company) to drug use. In the second half, it focuses on his time living in France and his general take on learning French, understanding the view of the French and his view of them.

He is most famous for his NPR commentaries. NPR has a decent collection on line to check out.

Overal a funny fast read that would appeal to those that like short stories or a sideways view of the world. I will definetly check out his other stuff.

I love the title, and you know my tendencies toward seeing the world a bit skewed as it is.

I’m going to have to go check this out too…
