WOW! You actually finished a book!

After way too long, I have finally returned to reading and chewed through a quality read to get myself back “in shape” for summer readng; like it was high school
The last book I finished was way back in December.
The Portrait of Mrs. Charbuque was a nice read with quality writing, a great plot and super, dense characters. I think the characters were the part that really drew you into the book. You cared what happen to them and how they did things and you understood their regrets and mistakes and celebrated their victories and triumphs with them.
Scott read this book some time ago and because of his review I wanted to read it. He gave it too me (I believe) as a Christmas gift. Check out the Scooter Chronicles review of it.
Overall, A very nice read and it makes me want to explore other works by Jeffrey Ford.

Glad you liked it.
There is another one that you might like, given your interest in this one. It’s “The Chess Garden” by Brooks Hansen.
