And not because there was gifts…..
Last night we were invited to my buddy Jason’s and his lovely wife Amena’s Christmas party. They really go all out. Wonderful spread of food, all made by Jason, and wonderful deserts, all made by Amena. The house is warmly decorated with a beautiful tree and items of the season and feels so cozy and warm, you wonder where your pajamas are.
We stayed for a few hours and spent some time meeting some of the wonderful friends, relatives, and coworkers of Jason and Amena, but the best gift of all was reconnecting with my friend.
I met Jason about 10 years ago and about 1999 we lost touch. No bad feelings, not fights, just drifted. He tracked me down over the summer and with much conversation in between, it was with much celebration that I was able to see him again after too much time. There are few people you meet that you want to keep in touch with. Thankfully Jason felt the same way and now we can pick up where we left off. This in itself has made it a very Merry Christmas for me.

1Amena and I were really glad that you and Catherine could make it. It was absolutely wonderful to see you again, and meet your fiance as well.
I couldn’t let a true friend like you slip away without a fight, and I’m very glad that I did my best to find you.
I hope that we can be sure to not let any other things get in the way of remaining in touch from here on in. Amena was really glad to meet you and Catherine, and is looking forward to hanging out with you both more soon. She just kept telling me how glad she was that I could see you again, and that she got to meet you both.
I’m glad that you enjoyed the party too. It was one of the better one’s we’ve thrown, and I had a great time. Having you two there was a big part of that. I hope that we can spend many more together…

2OK you two, get a room for crying out loud! :p
Just kidding; it’s cool to see that you guys could reconnect after six years.

3Wait a minute, didn’t these two ALREADY share a room for a while - - WHOA! At least Jason got Dave to enjoy coffee, we almost lost him to the way of Nancy and the “World of No Coffee!”

4Bri,
You are confusing Jason (Blockbuster) with Greg Lester (college Roommate). odd, considering I got back in touch with him recently too.
