I have now tried all 3 of the homebrews that my brother gave to me, so I will add one more review. Look for the next review tomorrow.

There is a pretty extensive brew diary for this beer on foolcircle.net so I won’t bother with the brew details here.
I was warned ahead of time that this one was a little on the explosive side and to open and pour in the sink. I followed those instructions and thankfully they were given. I lost about 1/3 to run off but it could have been worse. The head has full and large but not heavy like the Harvest Moon Brown Ale, and after the pour it dwindled down in a few moments.
The appearance was a dark brown , chestnut color - as expected from a stout. The first step after looking was a smell and the first word out of my mouth was “oregano?”. I then went in for a taste and it had a light body, seemed light stout or porter like. The taste was nondescript for the “beer” side but I swear Brian put oregano in there. I had Catherine taste it and she kept circling through oregano and rosemary. Maybe it was the age of mine or just the bottle, but it was “different”. Not a favorite of the Fool Circle arsenal but then again, it was the Enigma Stout. You gotta do ones that do weird things. Good experiment, maybe not the best brew.
Next Review - the diabolical Pliny The Elder
UPDATE
I had the second bottle tonight - no oregano taste or smell. I think I got the “bonus bottle” before.
