Last night Catherine and I went to Lehigh to watch a performance of Proof. You maybe more aware of this currently do to the film released based on the play. The performance last night was directed by the head of the theater department, whom Catherine works for, so the “we gotta go” factor was there.
I am glad we went as I had a very good time. We ended up in the front row, end seats. The performances were very good and the cast only consisted of 4 actors. The performance of the actor playing Hal was particularly good.
The set design was interesting as the entire play takes place on the back porch of the house. The use of hanging sheets of paper and patterned backlighting added to the space, but still placed faith in the audience to “fill in the blanks”.
Overall, I really enjoyed myself and isn’t that what entertainment is all about.
Ahh, the plot thickens. Now I know a little about what Catherine does for a living.
Theatre is a very cool gig, no matter what aspect one is attached to it. Doesn’t surprise me at all that you found yourself an artsy chick, Dave. (Catherine, if you’re reading this, I am only using “chick” as a vernacular term, and not in any demeaning capacity:)
I’m glad the performance was a good one. I’ve seen the commercials for the film, and it has Sir Anthony, so it can’t be all bad either.
I haven’t been to see a show in a little while. I’m going to try to take my bonus from this overnight job, and take Amena to see the Lion King on Broadway. She’s hinted about it in the past. I’ve heard it’s really something to see. Not exactly high drama, but a wonderful production…
If Lion King is sold out you should go check this out:

Wow!
Now that’s a dedicated fan.
He’s a Canadian, and I still have to admire him. What’s up with that?
Jeez, shows how much I pay attention. I didn’t even realize that you saw this play. Marcia, my folks, and I saw the film this weekend. Really enjoyed it. If I had known, I would have liked to see the play.
