I have added a new feature that allows my Amazon Wish list to appear right here at Zogworld. Click the wishlist on the navigation and you are there. I wil be making improvements and as of now it is in order added. I will hopefully revise it so that it can be in order desired. Possibly even a CD, BOOKS, and DVD sections.

1Your wishlist is pretty cool. I have one that I create for my family for holiday shopping. It normally is a bit DVD-centric, but there are some other things in there too. I put links and prices of things from all over to make it as easy as possible for them. They tease me about it, because I put so many things on there. It’s not that I ever expect them to get everything on the list. I just give them enough things that I really want so that I’ll still be surprised.
I’m surprised that Amazon doesn’t have a way to sort your list by your most wanted. Good luck with getting that switched around too…

2Looks good David. A little weird that some of the descriptions won’t come up. Or is that some of the tweeking that you still need to do?
Jason, Amazon does let you sort by “most wanted.” You assign each item a number for a priority. But you still can’t order items with the same priority number. So it helps in some way, but not totally.

3The Priority listing does work on Amazon.com. I need to find out if I can make that work via their web API (which is how this works). Another problem is that the XML feed (what creates the wishlist page) is not updated instantly. I am not sure how often it is updated but if I make changes they are not relected here immediately.
The description thing depends on what Amazon dumps to me. Most have it. I think the ones that don’t are ones they have “moved” to other catalog locations and I am still pointing at the old one.
I am still working on it but so far I have added the descriptions, prices (which are list- not Amazon- still trying to get that to display) and author name (if it is a book). I spent about an hour on it yesterday. If I find some more time, I will mess with it some more. So far so good though.

4My wishlist is so fluid that I’ve never really gotten around to putting one together on any website I frequent. Even with something like books from Amazon, I’d be better off just giving my family and friends titles. I’m a big fan of buying used or new copies of books from the amazon marketplace system. I have yet to have a bad experience, and I’ve been snagging hardback copies of about a dozen books so far, and haven’t paid more than $10 yet. I actually have gotten a few books where the cost was less than shipping.
Besides, I try to just give people a sampling of the things I want. If you saw the full gamut of my wishlist at once, you’d probably worry about my sanity, or your safety, and I have enough issues as it is. It’s rather hard to explain to people why you want a collection of the apocrypha when it’s next on the list with a 38″ battle axe and Ichi the Killer, y’know?
Maybe I’ll wrangle a wishlist on Amazon at some point, just to have a bit of my ghost in the machine. It definitely wouldn’t be the typical read…
