A revisit to London Below does some good
Neverwhere Massmarket cover

I have read this in the past, about 3 months after it came out. I also saw the British TV miniseries the day after I finished reading it and my memory was of a fused plot of the two, and there are differences.

I am not going to go on and on, but this is truly a special book. Well written, characters you care about, setting you can smell, touch and feel, and a story that brings it all together.

The only thing that is lost on me, and this is not the author’s fault, is the Underground stops. Yes, I get the double meanings but the locations would be more chilling if I lived and worked there.

I would love this to be made into a film with the right director, think Terry Gilliam. As far as a cast, Scarlett Johansson as Door, Avery Brooks as the marque and somebody very plain as Richard.

This is just a damn good book and I am glad I cam back to revisit it.

Now…. the Tower is closer.
