Last night I went to check on the load of laundry that should have just finished up to find 2 inches of water all across my floor in my laundry room. WHAT THE F$%K! After thinking I had overfilled the washer and this was an over-flow I saw the water coming out where the washer drain is in the wall. SO… I start cleaning and cleaning. I run to the local Sears hardware and get a shopvac. Still more water. I then go to see if my neighbor is having the same problem. Guess what - she is. So I get everything cleaned up - sorta - only to find that the water has seeped under the wall and into the hallway carpet!! I call the property management firm and they are on vacation. I give a call to the emergency line. supposedly my neighbor does too (though she is not home today - not smart). They tell me there is nothing they can do and call a plumber. I decide to call it a night as the water has seemed to stop (though it is full to the top of the drain).
I get up and call the plumber. 3 of them. Just to find one that can come out. After some serious effort I find one who can. I also call the property management line again and the same guy calls me back. In my checking around, the one plumber knew who was the properties plumber. I tell the property manager substitute this info. He calls them. They are on the way now.
What I want to know is who and how long is this gonna take to get cleaned up. I have a ruined wall, a soaked carpet, and water trapped UNDER my kitchen floor (you can hear it when you walk on it). NOT ME!! Not to mention the place stinks and that it is 30 degrees out and I cannot open the place up to air it out. They (the property management group) better be REALLY nice about this.
