Billy Chaka is back!!

This is the third installment of the Billy Chaka series and Isaac Adamson does not disappoint. This one is more hardboiled and darker than the previous two. It is thinner on the humor and action but has the most complex and rewarding plot line. And like the others, fun fun fun.

In this adventure Billy is following up on a fallen 80’s pop star only to witness a girl have a seizure. This unfolds a chain of events involving a mysterious man in white, a Mr. Bojangles, lots of ties to World War II and a hotel that is based around fish. In the end the plot resolves very nicely and we are actually guessing to the end. Again, the most rewarding plot line yet.

One thing about this book that I want to point out is the maturing nature of Isaac’s writing style. I think it has improved greatly. He has more command of the big picture and does not use as "cheap" devices as in previous books.

You can check out my reviews of Tokyo Suckerpunch (book 1) and Hokkaido Popsicle (book 2). Again think Quinten Tarintino writing Jackie Chan books!

Kinki Lullaby (Book 4) was released in October and I received it as a birthday gift. I hopefully will get to that in the next month or so.
