Yesterday I asked my longtime girlfriend Catherine to marry me. I am honored to have her say YES.
I had planned on doing sometime during the day but had no agenda of a how or when. We decided to go for a walk in a park we had never been to before and the set up presented itself. As we made our way down the path that ran parallel to a creek we came around a bend and found ourselves at a covered bridge. We crossed the bridge and made our way down onto this little area . We stepped out onto a stone outcropping that must have been for an old bridge or perhaps a piece of mill equipment. Catherine turned towards the bridge and turned back and I popped the question. Lucky for me she wears glasses as they saved her eyeballs from falling in the water.

This is a picture of THE spot where I asked her. The stone outcropping is there in the foreground.

Here is a picture of Catherine about 2 minutes after I asked (notice the ring on her left hand).

We spent the night at the General Lafayette Inn and enjoyed ourselves with a scrumptious dinner and a belly full of beer.

What a wonderful, perfect day. Check out the other pictures from the park and Bed & Breakfast in the Photos section.
