DVD Review: Peter Pan
….and not the crappy Disney version

We purchased the 2003 version of Peter Pan some time ago and have watched it several times. All I know is that is may be one of the finest family films of all time. Seriously. This is a visually(it reminds me of a Maxfield Parrish painting) , thematic, and acting accomplishment. You must see Jason Isaacs as Captain Hook. He is fantastic!
This film is on par with the Wizard of Oz as far as visuals are concerns. It has the same structure with the real world - fantasy land - real world (with bleed through from fantasy land) structure.
Please rent it or - even better - BUY IT . This film did not do well at the theaters. Why? I am never sure why but it says the marketing department is to blame as the critical reviews were very good.
I can watch this film again and again, that says something. PLEASE check this film out.
